About

Faisal Shabbir, MD

Board-certified family physician with fellowship training in addiction medicine. The practice exists for one reason: to make evidence-based addiction care available without the friction and shame that usually surround it.

Philosophy of care

Substance use disorders are medical conditions, not moral failings. Most people who develop them have already tried to stop, often many times. The question we work on together is what would make the next try the one that works — which usually involves some combination of medication, structure, and someone who's not going to flinch when you tell them the truth.

We practice harm reduction. That means we'll meet you wherever you are right now — including not ready to quit. Reduction in use is itself a meaningful health outcome, and it's often the bridge to more.

Confidentiality

Your records here are protected by HIPAA and by 42 CFR Part 2 — a federal law specific to substance use treatment that's stricter than HIPAA. We do not release information to anyone, including other clinicians, without your written consent except as narrowly required by law.
